Decorative Wall Panels - Measuring Guide
Think about where you want to install your wall panels. Addressing questions about usage, placement and other concerns will help you to choose the right kind of wall coverings, and also help you to decide on wall covering plans.
Walls:
Panels are normally placed vertically i.e. from floor to ceiling.
Panels may also be fitted horizontally if the shape of the room makes this an easier option.
 To find out how many panels you require ( vertically placed panels):
1. Measure each wall length and height. 2. Divide each wall length measurement by the panel width. 3. Round up any fractions to give the number of panels required for that wall.
As panels are only available in pack quantities you need to round up to the nearest multiple of the pack quantity. For your convenience, you could also use the panel quantity calculator located below every panel description.
This will give you an estimation of how many panels you require.
To get an exact figure you will need to plan where each panel will be placed. Doors and windows are worth to consider. Of course only the part above the door needs to be covered. The same consideration can be given to any areas where a much less than a full length panels is required, but remember that it is always wise to allow extra for wastage and cutting errors.
 Wall Height:
The majority of the panels are 95 - 96" high so if your room is slightly more than that you can use skirting or cornices to make up the difference.
You will need to plan where each panel will be placed. The same consideration as above can be given to any areas where a much less than a full length panels is required, but remember that you should make some allowance for cutting mistakes, and that materials needed should be rounded up to full packs regardless.
Ceilings:
Ceiling panels can be run in either direction;
You should consider both directions as one way is likely to need less material than the other.
Of course, you may have a preference as to which way you would like run the panels for visual effect.
